Cafes in Copenhagen eating out
with the locals. Cafes are very popular in Copenhagen,
especially for the younger audients who enjoy their brunch, a light
lunch or a romantic dinner in trendy but still relaxed atmosphere at
one of the many cafes around the city.
Sankt Hans Torv A place of
excellent bars and venues. During summertime the square itself is
packed with outdoor café tables from the two main cafes
Sebastopol, Guldbergsgade 2 (Tel: +45 3536 3002 ) This corner café-bar has the best location in the city, fine food and top-service. The spirit as well as the menu is inspired by the French style, and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed.
Pussy Galore’s Flying Circus, Sankt Hans Torv 30 (Tel: +45 3524 5300) Gorgeous cocktails in a chi-chi setting, it can get a bit cramped but the glass walls look out onto the square and the trendy pre-club, media and occasional Royal crowd should satisfy the voyeur in you. Hours are Mon-Fri 8am-2am, Sat-Sun 9am-2am

Rust has a cocktail bar, a dance floor and a basement playing electronic underground music. If you prefer to hear what the person next to you is saying, they also have a lounge, called the Livingroom, which serves a wide range of cocktails. The music varies as much as the clientele, so there is no dress code. Open Wed-Sat 9pm-5am, entrance around DKK50.

Café Europa Amagertorv 1

classic metropolis Café, almost always fully booked because of the
position at StrØget the Copenhagen pedestrian mall.
Café Norden Østergade 61

biggest café, delicious sandwiches and salads, a great place for a
quick lunch during shopping.

Copenhagen N, Tel: +45 3524 1100 One of the hippest food, drink and dance spots in the city, with its mini dance-floor and live DJ sessions on Thursdays to Saturdays. The interior is all black leather chairs, white walls, low ceilings and bright light - an exercise in café society minimalism.

(if there are music events) A beacon of toe-tapping and finger-clicking during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, the rest of the time the Jazz House is the city's leading jazz venue and boasts a terrific ambience. Featuring Danish musicians and the occasional international artist, the venue makes a great place to chill and soak up some atmosphere.

Rosie McGee's is the home for drinking, dining and dancing. It is located opposite Tivoli, on Vesterbrogade. This is the biggest pub/restaurant in town, and it serves the traditional Tex-Mex and American style food. There are 149 different tap beers to choose from. The decor is romantic Victorian style and includes John Lennon's old library, a Mexican hacienda, a Scottish pub, a log cabin, the mermaid cocktail bar and 2 dance floors. Check Thursday nights for special events. Live music everyday.
